Join the Marshall County Historical Society for a fascinating presentation on the German Army in the Second World War given by Dr. Jeff Rutherford, former professor of history at Wheeling Jesuit University and Fulbright Scholar in 2018. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Allied landings on D-day, and Dr. Rutherford will discuss the position of the German army in June of 1944 as they faced threats from both the Allied invasion in France and the Soviet offensive from the east.

Beginning at 6:00, five Marshall County students will present their social studies projects, followed by Dr. Rutherford's presentation at 7:00. Gary Rider will also provide a brief presentation on local Marshall County residents who participated in the D-day landing. Afterwards, more information will be provided about the Marshall County Historical Society for those interested in being a part of its efforts.

This event will be held at the Marshall County Historical Society Museum, located at the corner of 13th St. and Lockwood Avenue in Moundsville, WV. All are invited to attend!
